This is a group ceramic show of the North Coast Woodfire Society that I have been firing with near Ukiah.  The event showcased the work of everybody who has been involved with the firing, and it is open for a month at the Sculpture Garden at Grace’s on Main St at the Hoyman/Browe Studio in Ukiah.  I had the pleasure of meeting Nick Schwartz, a potter who also spent time in Shigaraki firing Anagama kilns (the large wood-fired ripped vase is his, below).  And I made it up just in time for the last few songs of live music by the Mendocino group "The Blushin Roulettes".  It was a good time, and many thanks to Doug Browe who has brought this group together for wood firings and who arranged this show.

Great variety of beautiful hand-made ceramic. particular clay found in that area has made it a hot-bed of local artisans. There are quite a few in close driving closeness.
